In an effort to help break down barriers, Gina Cody has donated $15 million to Concordia University.  In return, Concordia has renamed their engineering school – the Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science.  It is a first for a Canadian university to have an engineering faculty named after a woman.

As well as the change of name, the university will also be dedicating part of the money to create an equity, diversity and inclusion program.
